Since I&#8217;m waiting on some elevator components to be delivered, I went back to working on the rudder today.<\/p>\n<p>I got started by dimpling the #30 holes that will be used to secure the upper rudder tip.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4752.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-301\" src=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4752-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4752\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4752-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4752-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I match\u00a0drilled the rudder counterbalance weight to the mating rib.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4755.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-290\" src=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4755-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4755\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4755-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4755-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After drilling the lead, I countersunk the part. This lead is like cutting through clay.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/IMG_4758.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I match drilled the stiffeners and nut plates to the rudder spar.<a
