The brackets are supposed to be installed vertically&#8211;I used the bead that was rolled into the metal as my guide.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1048.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4476\" src=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1048-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1048-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1048-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1048-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This image shows the clamping scheme I used to properly locate everything. To ensure the top flange of the bracket lined up with the rib, I clamped an old Z-bracket to the crotch strap bracket. It turned out pretty clean. To ensure a .125 spacing between the brackets, I taped a bunch of 1\/8 diameter drill bits between the parts.
