The last major task was modifying the longeron to fit around the horizontal stabilizer bars. I used the XXX as a template and marked off the material that had to be removed. I drilled 2 3\/32 holes to get nice radii around the cutout.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2516.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4785\" src=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2516-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2516-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2516-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To remove the remaining material, I used my Dremel and a file. After a little trial and error, the slots turned out great. <a href=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2522.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4786\" src=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2522-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2522-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/rv7aircraftlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/IMG_2522-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I fit the longerons in the aft fuselage while the subassembly was in the normal orientation. The plans tell you to install the longerons while the fuselage is inverted, but I think this worked out better.
