The armrest parts required a few modifications. For my interior, I’m only installing the padded armrests from Classic Aero at this time. Classic Aero makes a drill template, which makes locating the armrest mounting holes really easy. I clamped the template in place and drilled the holes. On the Classic Aero website, they say there’s 3 holes mounting the armrest, but the jig only has 2 holes. I’m just going to see how this turns out when the parts arrive (in like 6 weeks).\u00a0

A common modification to the armrest is to add a stiffener. Apparently unfamiliar passengers have been known to apply too much force to the armrest when entering\/exiting the plane, which causes deformation of the armrest. I had cut 2 pieces of .75X.75X.063 angle aluminum a few weeks back to stiffen up this part. Using my drill fan, I drilled the mounting holes in the armrest. My hole spacing was about 1 inch.

You can see where I dropped in a few drill bits between the stiffener and the flange. This helps achieve a consistent distance. Once everything was clamped up, I drilled the parts together. Lastly, I trimmed down the height of the vertical flange to be inline with the flange of the armrest.
