Today was all about busting out the necessary modifications on the aft bulkheads so I can start getting the aft fuselage assembled. I clamped the F-711C stiffeners to the F-711A/B bulkheads so the parts could be match drilled. img_3995

The pen line shows to the holes are aligned with the centerline of the stiffener.

Here are the holes drilled to their final size. I need to go back and drill 2 more holes on each stiffener which are located on the cantilevered portion of the parts. The plans give the   hole positions.

The next activity I did was the removal of the upper area of the bulkhead. I kept the A and B sections of the bulkhead cleccoed together. The material was rough-cut with a cutoff wheel. I then used a file to clean up the edges.

My last task for the day was match drilling the tie-down bar to the bulkhead. The bar is drilled to the front side of the bulkhead, which is a little counterintuitive. The vertical stabilizer will be attached to the aft side of the bulkhead. img_4010
