Today was all about busting out the necessary modifications on the aft bulkheads so I can start getting the aft fuselage assembled. I clamped the F-711C stiffeners to the F-711A/B bulkheads so the parts could be match drilled.
The pen line shows to the holes are aligned with the centerline of the stiffener.
Here are the holes drilled to their final size. I need to go back and drill 2 more holes on each stiffener which are located on the cantilevered portion of the parts. The plans give the hole positions.
The next activity I did was the removal of the upper area of the bulkhead. I kept the A and B sections of the bulkhead cleccoed together. The material was rough-cut with a cutoff wheel. I then used a file to clean up the edges.
My last task for the day was match drilling the tie-down bar to the bulkhead. The bar is drilled to the front side of the bulkhead, which is a little counterintuitive. The vertical stabilizer will be attached to the aft side of the bulkhead.
