I’m back from my cousin’s (Caitie) wedding in the middle of nowhere of Idaho. While making the 3 hour drive from Boise to Stanley, ID I saw an RV-7 parked on a tiny grass strip in the backcountry of ID. Too bad I couldn’t fly my own airplane to this wedding!
I got a fairly early day started at the hangar. I’m usually lucky if I can get out of work before 7:30, but today I left at 6:30. I saw a good looking RV-4 departing CPM while I was pulling in. I’m really liking that paint scheme.
No onto the day’s business. The first thing I did was clamp the fuselage onto the saw horse to avoid any unintentional movement.
I’m trying to get all the random pieces assembly completed before the skins get riveted on. I riveted the F-719B Angle Clip to the firewall.
Next up, I torqued the bolts that fasten the bolts that join the auxiliary longeron to the firewall.
In preparation for the bottom skin being installed, I used the self-etching primer at the interface area. Ideally I would have used the epoxy primer, but I’m not in the mood to mix up a batch of that tonight.
I actually some fuselage riveting today. I used my squeezer to get the longeron rivets along the center/forward section.
