I riveted the rear spar reinforcement bars today. I was able to easily hit all of these rivets with my pneumatic squeezer. I added masking tape to the holes that should be left open for now.

As part of this horizontal stabilizer rebuild, I was able to incorporate the SB XXXX upgrades. The service bulletin involves adding doubles around the elevator outboard hinge brackets. I decided to add doublers to the inside and outside of the spar. You are instructed to add the inside doublers only if cracks are present.

It’s also worth noting I install the rivets with touch-up powdercoat. The touch-up paint helps seal out the exposed steel of the bracket.

The other big accomplishment of the day was riveting the ribs and reinforcement to the forward spars. This was pretty straightforward process. I used both the pneumatic squeezer and the rivet gun to hit all of the rivets.
