I got a few hours in the hangar after work today.
The first thing I did was finished deburring and dimpling the last 2 ribs on the left fuel tank. After that, I deburred the outer edges of the fuel tank skin. Since the wing skins should butt-up against each other, I tried to remove as little material as possible–just enough to remove the shear marks.
The next thing I did was countersink the holes on the fuel cap. Besides forming the vent tube mounting bracket, the left tank is basically ready for assembly.
Now that the left tank is good to go, I started de-vinyling the right tank skin. I didn’t have enough energy to finish the bottom side. Overall, this was a productive weekday at the hangar.
