I’ve started my hangar lease at Compton/Woodley Airport. From a cost and convenience standpoint, it’s far more preferable to build an airplane in your own garage. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment in Hermosa Beach, so this is not really an option.
My hangar is technically an “end room”, meaning does not have a large garage-style door. The only exit is a standard man-door. This is going to be a problem when I get to the larger sections of the plane, but the end room is acceptable for the construction of the empennage and wings.
