After using my old workbench for almost 3 years, it’s time to make an upgrade. My old bench was of my own design and it turns out I didn’t make it rigid enough. The middle of the table has begun to sag. Using my power drill and circular saw, I completely disassembled by bench. Now shop has plenty of open space.
Eventually I’m going to make 2 standard EAA benches, but 1 bench is fine for now. I cut the 2X4s at work to the appropriate sizes. All the 2X4s were glued and screwed together.
I deviated from the EAA plans by making the top sheet overhand the frame. This will make it easier to clamp to the table.
Here’s the (almost) final product. I’ll add the lower shelf next time I go in.
