I’m circling back to the rudder pedals. To drill the holes that connect the pedal to the master cylinder, you have to drill the pedal in an unspecified location. The popular way this is accomplished is by using a drill bit to scratch the arc that master cylinder creates as it rotates about its upper constraint. The pedals should be contained in a neutral position during this procedure. In the image below, you can see how the pedals are locked in place with a ruler. A short drill bit was passed through the lower hole of the master cylinder. The cylinder was swung in a short arc to scratch the appropriate hole position.
Here’s the arc that was formed. I’ll drill the hole in the middle of the tab later. The scratch will be blended out.
