Today I worked to finish riveting the fuselage. Although there’s only a handful of rivets left, it was fairly slow going because we left the most challenging rivets for last. The .125 diameter rivets around the firewall brackets took some pretty serious force to set.

One of the deviations from the plans most builders seem to follow is the installation of the flathead rivet above the rear spar members. Since I had forgotten to dimple this area initially, I used the dimple dies that work with the blind rivet tool. The rivet turned out great.

By the end of the day, we set all but 2 rivets on the right side of the fuselage. Tomorrow we’ll attack the left side of the fuselage.
