I got my new sawhorse installed under the forward section fo the airplane. The longerons should be level, so I’m using one of my old sawhorses in the back. The difference in height between the forwards are aft sawhorses is approximately 14 inches. I can’t actually remember the exact number. Luckily, with these two sawhorses, I was basically able to level the fuselage with very little extra work.

I got the F-695-R Forward Fuselage Gusset drilled. I wish I would have chamfered the outer corner of the gusset because the holes that attach to the horizontal stiffener are too close to the edge. It seems like this is the case for most builders. There’s a slight gap between the gusset and the firewall, which makes this unavoidable if you follow the dimensions in the plans.

This is the worst-case hole on the horizontal stiffener. Ideally, this number should be .1875 inches. I’m measuring .1640 inches. I’ll reach out to Van’s to see what they say about this issue. This seems pretty typical for many builders. I’m also not sure what options are available to fix this issue.
