I’m happy I got a solid weekend day on the airplane. It feels like these days come around pretty infrequently.
The first thing I did was get that canopy out out of the way. I think that hanging structure really turned out nice.
The remainder of the day was spent getting the baggage area finished up so I can get ready to install the side/floor panels. I torqued the fasteners that attach the external steps to the fuselage rib. The #10 fasteners are supposed to the torqued to 20-25 in-lb, but I couldn’t reach this value. The UHMW just kept compressing. Since I was worried about cracking the material, I stopped torquing around 15 in-lb. This hardware is not flight critical, so I’m not concerned about the risk.
For my harness conduit, I applied RTV around the conduit mounting holes. This will keep everything nicely aligned.
Besides vacuuming out the baggage area, I’m ready to get those baggage panels painted and installed.
