I got a solid 5 hour day in at the hangar today. I got to work with the intention of making a big leap forward on the canopy frame. I started the day by going to Harbor Freight to pick up 2 new deep-jaw clamps. The clamps across the frame keep things flat and maintain a consistent width. Within the frame, there are spacers located under the clamps to keep the correct thickness.

After fixturing everything, I match drilled all holes to the final size. There are about 160 holes that were opened up.

After the inner and outer straps were drilled, I match drilled the connecting plate to the forward face of the frame. This will eventually be installed on the inside.

Here’s the final product temporarily placed on the fuselage. This really makes the airplane look much bigger.
