The builder plans instruct you to move on to the assembly of fuel tanks, but I want to take a break from the tanks. Instead, I’m going to work on closing out the leading edges. I started on the right leading edge because I haven’t done any of the stall warning work.
I started the day by match drilling the holes.
While the leading edge was still installed on the spar, I removed the blue layer around the holes.
When I disassembled the leading edge, I realized the holes along the inboard rib were not aligned. I didn’t flute the flanges, which caused the part to be bowed while it was being match drilled. I had been aware of this while I was originally assembling the parts, but I didn’t think it was going to be an issue at the time. Lessoned learned. I need to buy a new inboard rib for the left and right wings and new splice plates. I can still progress on the assembly of the leading edge.
The right leading edge parts were dimpled.
I build a shelf for the C-frame. I should have done this a long time ago.
Lastly, I dimpled the right leading edge skin.
