I’ve taken a hiatus on the airplane over the last few months. This have been pretty busy with the job, wedding planning, and moving. I expect to get a lot more plane time in over the summer.
My goal was to get the canopy latches fitted. The first thing I had to do was get the canopy installed on the fuselage.
The brackets get drilled to the canopy on the assembly, but there’s basically no access. I drilled one of the latch holes to #19 and used a piece of sheetmetal to grab the cleco. The sheet metal allowed the latch to float. I have no idea if this is going to work.
The fit of my latch is pretty terrible. I’m going to have to open up the hole side in the gusset. I was getting frustrated so I decided to call it a day.
