Today is the day I finally get this canopy frame closed out. The first thing I did was use my interior primer to coat the inside area of the frame that will be exposed through the fastener access hole.
I plugged up the tooling holes with Bondo. This will provide a cleaner appearance.
The rivets that attach this angle are super close to the flange wall. To make things simpler, I just used some MSP bling rivets on the inside of the channel.
The whole frame was clamped down and all blind rivets/clecos were installed. This was a ton of work. I’m really thankful I bought the pneumatic blind rivet tool. It made the whole process easier.
For fun, I placed the canopy frame on the airplane. This is looking really cool.
