Since I haven’t worked on the plane that much recently, I really wanted to crank out some good work today. Unfortunately, today was not nearly as productive as I had hoped. I started off by match drilling the top left flap top skin.

The plans have you cut down the flange length. Instead of just using the band saw, I went into work and put this part on the mill. The cuts came out perfect.

The drilled out flange:

Vans has you bend the doubler to 6.3 degrees, which is a real pain in the ass. I tried a few different methods, but I was unable to adequately clamp the parts to get a good bent. I’ll go into work tomorrow and put these parts on the vise.

To finish up the day, I dimpled a portion of the top skin.
