This was a really successful day. I was able to knock out a bunch of steps.
I got started by counter sinking the top baffle holes on the left fuel tank.
When I was working on the leading edge, I didn’t flute the rib. Since the holes were a little misaligned, I installed a new rib and joiner strip. I match drilled the fuel tank to the jointer plate on the left wing.
You are supposed to drill out the fuel tank mounting holes to #19. I drilled the holes to #21 and reamed them to #19. The scrap wood was used to keep the drill centered.
Since SpaceX has a more robust drill press compared to what I have at the hangar, I went to work to drill the tank access hole.
I used the doubler ring to find the center.
I took the drilling slow and it worked out great. A firm setup is key.
Hole cut in the rib!
