The left wing is finally coming together. My big goal for the day was to get the leading edge installed. To get started, I located the LE on the spar with ratcheting straps. The straps help make sure everything is pulled tight.
I used MSP-42 and MPS-44 blind rivets to joint the LE ribs to the spar. Van’s tells you to use solid rivets, but most builders seem to use blind rivets for this job. To protect the ribs, I masked them off with tape.
I used my pneumatic squeezer to set all the rivets alone the top and bottom of the spar.
Lastly, lubed up the tie-down ring and installed it into the tie-down bar. This came out very nicely.
This was a very productive day! I can feel the end of the wing kit getting close.
