I got the day started by finishing up the deburring/dimpling on the remaining 4 seat ribs.
The remained of the day was spent on the crotch strap bracket prep. The brackets are supposed to be installed vertically–I used the bead that was rolled into the metal as my guide.
This image shows the clamping scheme I used to properly locate everything. To ensure the top flange of the bracket lined up with the rib, I clamped an old Z-bracket to the crotch strap bracket. After drilling that holes for 1 rib, I used that has a tool to drill the other ribs.
Here’s the final product. It turned out pretty clean. To ensure a .125 spacing between the brackets, I taped a bunch of 1/8 diameter drill bits between the parts. The tape adds a slight amount of thickness, but this is acceptable.
