I got the full center section skeleton riveted together. The most difficult rivets to set were the top most rivets on the F-705 bulkhead due to the inconvenient bucking bar access. Instead of struggling with the lack of access, I used MSP-42 and MSP-43 blind rivets in this area. You can see the solid rivets and blind rivets in the picture below.
I finally got these little bulkhead pieces done.
I was finally going to get the control column brackets bolted to the wing box, but I ran into a pretty annoying issue. The riveting performed at Van’s was done incorrectly! The first image shows how everything should look.
This image shows where the riveting errors. Vans riveted holes that should be left open and omitted rivets from holes that actually require rivets. I’m going to contact Van’s and see what needs to be done here. I’m sure I’ll just need to drill out the unnecessary rivets and bolt the holes that should actually have rivets.
