My finishing kit has finally made it to SpaceX! Drew allowed me to use his truck to transport the crate from SpaceX to the Compton Airport. I owe both Drew and Steve a huge thanks for giving me a hand with this project. The crate for this kit is big. The width of the crate measured 48.5 inches, while the bed of Drew’s Ridgeline was 49 inches. I had some reserves whether this was all going to fit, but everything fit perfectly. The SpaceX shipping employee handled that forklift like a pro.
The crate was dominated by the canopy and the cowls. You can see a bunch of the smaller parts on the tables. Unfortunately the engine mount is currently on back order.
This image shows all the paper that was used to package everything in the kit. I basically filled my entire fuselage! Vans does a great job ensuring everything makes the journey undamaged.
