Since the battery box has a lot of exposed steel surfaces, I spray painted everything. The white powder coated side brackets are now black, which I think makes it look a little cleaner. After painting, I riveted the side brackets to the battery box. It’s important to remember to rivet the brackets to the box before the nutplates are riveted. Also, the shop heads need to be on the outside of the box.
Although the left and right brackets have identical nutplate hole patterns, not all holes get used. On the right side of the airplane, just 1 nutplate goes through the firewall.
