I got about 4 hours at the hangar today. It was a pretty hot day in Compton so I was beat by the time the day ended. I was hoping to get the flap assembly wrapped up, but I ran into a few minor issues that are not bringing up.
Instead, I spent time getting the landing gear mounts wrapped up. The first thing i did was countersink the holes that attach to the forward strut on the mount.
I got the spacers primed and installed between the bulkheads. I had made these spacers like 2 years ago. To actually get the spacers to fit, I had to pry open the bulkheads with a scrap piece of UHMW.
I’ve successfully gotten all fasteners installed for the gear mounts. I was too tired to final torque the fasteners, but that should be the easy part.
Here’s my makeshift wrench extension I used to install those nuts buried between the bulkheads.
