It’s a little tough to tell what’s going on in this picture, but the important thing is that I drilled the C-613 Splice Plate to the canopy frame and ran into this hole issue in the frame. I’m not entirely sure why I’m not seeing this on other people’s builder logs. That #40 hole (with the cleco) comes from the hole pattern in the F-772 skin. I’m just going to leave that area open so it can probably be filled with Bondo later.
Here’s the splice plate riveted in place. You can see the open hole that has the e/D issue in the frame. The #40 hole wasn’t drilled into the splice plate, which is why you can’t see the hole here. All faying surfaces were primed before assembly.
You can see the flathead rivets on the opposite side. If you look closely at the open hole, you can see the #40 holes filled with grey paint next to it.
