I had an airport neighbor help me move the canopy off its storage location on the ceiling. I had to clear out some space in the hangar to make room for the canopy on the ground.
The first thing you are supposed to do is mark the centerline along the length of the canopy. I tried a few methods to get the centerline to actually be accurate. It seems like most builders just take a long tape measure and just do their best. I tried to use a laser feature on my level to get a perfect line. This had its own complications because the canopy and the laser had to be perfectly aligned (0 relative rotation). In the end, I used a combination of the laser and just pulling a string from front to back to mark the centerline.
