One of the tasks that fell of my radar was installation of the canopy braces. This used to be an optional kit for the RV-7, but Vans wisely made it a standard kit several years ago.
There’s actually not a ton of content to go over here. The braces were installed by clamping/drilling the frame side and then clamping/drilling the skin side. Vans was pretty vague in regards to positioning these parts.
Here’s the frame side being clamped:
Here’s the skin-side being clamped. These deep C-clamps have come in handy a bunch of times.
Here’s the mostly final product. These braces close out the canopy frame in a nice way.
