I got most of the skin-to-skeleton rivets installed today. I was able to use my pneumatic squeezer for everything. This is the fun part of airplane building.
The first thing I did was rivet the counterbalance skin/ribs to the main spar.
Both skins were riveted to the skeleton. This is looking awesome.
Here’s the rudder counterweight installed. I added 2X washers to each fastener stickup to ensure the nuts were not shanking out on the screws.
After torquing down the counterweight, I got the top rib installed. I used 2X blind rivets on the aft end of either side. All other rivets were solids.
